Scanning without a Phone

Most people think QR codes are just for phones. But you can scan them easily on your laptop or desktop computer.

This is useful when:

  • Your phone is charging or in another room.
  • You are working on your desktop and want to open a link there.
  • You have a file saved on your computer.

Method 1: Using Your Webcam

If your laptop or monitor has a webcam:

  1. Click the Camera Mode button on our scanner.
  2. Allow the browser to access your camera.
  3. Hold the item (paper, phone screen, package) up to the webcam.
  4. Ensure good lighting so the camera can see the code clearly.

Method 2: Uploading a File

If you have the QR code as a file on your computer:

  1. Click Upload Image.
  2. Drag and drop the image file onto the scan area.
  3. Or click to browse your folders and select the file.

Troubleshooting User Issues

Camera not working? Check your browser permissions. Look for a camera icon in the address bar and ensure access is 'Allowed'.

Image not reading? Try cropping the image so only the QR code is visible. High contrast images work best.
