Scanning without a Phone
Most people think QR codes are just for phones. But you can scan them easily on your laptop or desktop computer.
This is useful when:
- Your phone is charging or in another room.
- You are working on your desktop and want to open a link there.
- You have a file saved on your computer.
Method 1: Using Your Webcam
If your laptop or monitor has a webcam:
- Click the Camera Mode button on our scanner.
- Allow the browser to access your camera.
- Hold the item (paper, phone screen, package) up to the webcam.
- Ensure good lighting so the camera can see the code clearly.
Method 2: Uploading a File
If you have the QR code as a file on your computer:
- Click Upload Image.
- Drag and drop the image file onto the scan area.
- Or click to browse your folders and select the file.
Troubleshooting User Issues
Camera not working? Check your browser permissions. Look for a camera icon in the address bar and ensure access is 'Allowed'.
Image not reading? Try cropping the image so only the QR code is visible. High contrast images work best.
